Candlelit dinners, long walks on the beach, romantic evenings. That’s generally what many of us think of when Valentines Day comes around.

Others want nothing to do with the day because they may be without a date or they get stuck with that last-minute v-day shift at work.

Well regardless if you love the day, or despise it, here are five ways that will help you have the best Valentines Day ever!

5. Spend Time With Your Friends & Family
Romance is good on Valentines Day, but it’s also a great way to show your friends and family how much you care about them. These are people who are there for you every other day of the year, so why not show your appreciation for them on this special day. Have a party, make dinner, go somewhere exciting. Just have fun!

4. Cheer Someone Up
This is a hard day for many people to go through, so why not take a minute to put a smile on their face?  Go out of your way to send somebody flowers or a valentine’s day card. Not only will this make them feel better, but you’ll feel so overjoyed by their happiness, it’ll make your day as well. You don’t have to break the bank on this. A little simple something goes a long way.

3. Take Your Date On An Adventure
Many long term relationships tend to lose their spark at some point or another. Rekindle the flame. Guys, this is your time to shine. Take her on a surprise picnic, recreate your first date, go somewhere neither of you have ever been! Give her a day where she will fall in love all over again and let her brag about you to all of her friends.

2. Get Dressed Up
One thing that will always make you feel good is dressing up in your finest threads. Regardless if you’re eating dinner at a 5-star restaurant or just eating at home, putting on your fancy clothes will make the occasion extra special. Women love the chance to get dolled up and guys look very sharp in a suit. It’s really a win win.

1. Surprise Somebody
Even those people who swear they don’t like surprises, like surprises. This day isn’t just for surprising your loved one. Bring flowers to your mom, give your brother chocolates, heck, give a flower to a stranger! Remember, you don’t have to break the bank for this. That is unless you plan on surprising that lucky someone by putting a ring on it. Then you’ll be dropping some hefty cash.
