The San Gabriel Complex consists of 2 different brush fires that started yesterday morning and are continuing to burn in the Angeles National Forest. One near Duarte and the other near Azusa. Both fires are expected to possibly merge as they’re about a mile and a half apart.

As of 10:45am Tuesday, June 21st, the Reservoir Fire was currently at 2400 acres and the Fish Fire at 3000 acres. Both fires are 0% contained.

There’s over 600 personnel currently engaged working on containing these fires including handcrews, engines, helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, bull dozers, and water tenders.

Red Flag and excessive heat warning remains in effect across Southern California today.

According to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, an estimated 600 residents and 400 homes have been evacuated in the area.

Evacuation orders were issued for Markwood Street, Deerlane Drive, Mount Olive Drive, Spinks Canyon Road, Rim Road, Goldenmeadow Drive, High Mesa Drive and Tall Pink Drive in Duarte.

Also folks from Azusa’s Mountain View area, Rainbow Ranch and Fish Canyon Equestrian Center have been evacuated as well.

Sheriff’s deputies stated that Monrovia residents who have homes north of Foothill Boulevard and east of Myrtle Avenue and the Bradbury area have been advised that there was potential for evacuations to be implemented in their area and to be prepared just in case.

If you live in the area and need a place for your animals they are being sheltered at the Fairplex in Pomona.

South Coast Air Quality Management District officials have issued a smoke advisory for the Inland Empire.

The cause of both brush fires remain under investigation.
