The San Gabriel Complex consists of 2 fires, the Reservoir Fire and the Fish Fire that started Monday morning June 20th. As of 10:20am Wednesday, June 22nd, the combined acreage for the complex is now an estimated at 4900 acres (the Reservoir Fire with 1200 acres and 3700 acres for the Fish Fire.)

Over 1400 personnel are currently working to contain the fires, both of which are 10% contained. There’s handcrews, engines, helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, bull dozers, and water tenders all working on the complex.

One thing that will change for fighting the fires today is that there will be stronger winds in the area of Azusa and Duarte above where these fires are burning.  Wind gusts of up to 20-25 mph will be possible today and tonight.

According to, fire restrictions are still Very High today and Angeles National Forest Order No. 01-16—04 is in effect regarding the use of campfires, smoking, firearms and welding.

As for mandatory evacuations remain in effect for parts of Duarte and in the national monument.
