If you’re going to be grilling this 4th of July, make sure you do it in style. Here are some essential things you’ll need to be the baddest BBQer.

A Grill

I think this is a no brainer, but yes make sure you have a grill if you really want to cook up some yummy food. I’m all for the conveniences of Crock Pot meals, but there’s nothing like the smell of a grill going during a party.

Forth of July decorations are everywhere right now. If you’re having a BBQ you need to show off your patriotism with lots of decorations. It can be as simple as the plates and silverware being in theme or you can go full blown and buy the entire aisle at Party City. I’d chose the latter!

American Themed Outfit

If you’re going to decorate the house and backyard you have to decorate your body! Bust out every you own that’s red, white, and blue or if you’re like me use it as an excuse to go get something new.

American Themed Apron

Come on you don’t want to get dirty and you totally want to be patriotic, so get an apron that serves as both. I personally like the “Time To Get Star Spangled Hammered” one HERE.

BBQ Tools

If you’re grilling late at night for people who arrive late or people who just need to eat again, you might need a light. Plus you don’t want to give your guest food poisoning, so make sure your meat is the right temperature. A thermometer would be handy. The 4th of July is a good reason to invest in some new BBQ tool. HERE‘s a great website for all kinds of BBQing gadgets.

To the grill master, it’s time to multitask. Your new grilling tools in one hand and a cold drink in the other. Don’t get drunk and burn the meat though! And remember to get drinks for the rest of the party too.

BBQ Sauce

If you’re legit doing some barbecue meat then you need a killer sauce. HERE‘s a list of the best barbecue sauces in the country!

Side Dishes

don’t skimp when it comes to the side dishes. If you want to have a really good BBQ you need some potato salad, or mac and cheese, grilled corn, or close slaw. Get dirty on the menu! Pinterst is always good for recipe ideas.

You need to have a great playlist. Be sure to mix in some patriotic songs with your favorites. A good mix of new and classic is always the way to go. HERE’s a list of some go-to country patriotic songs.

The Meat

If you really want to impress your guest, skip the hamburgers and hot dogs. Go to a local butcher and get some really amazing meat. It will make all the difference. If you don’t care about your guests, then get whatever is on sale. 🙂
