Being friends with benefits really does work according to Mila Kunis.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Kunis spilled the beans on how her and, now husband, Ashton Kutcher’s relationship first took off.

“We, oddly, both did a movie called — I did Friends With Benefits, he did a movie called No Strings Attached,” Kunis explained. “If we just paid attention to these movies, we should know that s–t like this does not work out in real life. Well, we clearly didn’t pay attention. We shook hands, we’re like, ‘Let’s just have fun!’ I mean, literally, we lived out our movies. We literally just had a very open conversation.”

Kunis, 32, had an onscreen love interest with Kutcher, 38, on That 70’s Show for eight seasons where the two first met. Although they had never gotten together offset in their younger days, things really heated up between the two at Kutcher’s housewarming party back in 2011.

“So I went over. Long story short — I didn’t leave till the next morning,” Kunis recalled. “And that was the first time, ever, that I’d ever slept over when I was single … at a guy’s house.”

And what exactly happened that night you ask?

Kunis said, “Well, I’ll tell you this much, he didn’t let me leave. At 2 in the morning I was like, ‘I’m gonna call an Uber! See you later.’ And he was like, ‘You’re crazy!’ And I was like, ‘Bye!'”

While the they tried to stay non exclusive, it had gotten to a point where the two wanted a real relationship.

“We’d literally attempt to go see other people, and then that night we’d be like, ‘Hey! What are you up to? Wanna come over?'” Kunis mentioned. “It ended up going from just having fun to genuinely wanting… When I realized I was nervous when I spoke to him. I was like, ‘I don’t like this anymore.'”

The two, who have a 21-month old daughter together, got married in July of 2015 and have a second baby on the way.
