In the “Musical Insights” series, country artists share their thoughts on some of their most popular tunes.

By now, you’ve probably heard Tucker Beathard‘s debut single “Rock On,” and if you’re wondering what’s the deal behind the line, “Yeah, I do a lot of thinkin’ ’bout wantin’ you back/but I don’t know ’bout all dolled up like that,” Tucker says it’s a sentiment close to his heart.

“I’m not a big fan of fake things,” he reveals in audio provided by the Big Machine Label Group. “I think I’ve got a pretty good judge of character, so, anything like fake things, it’s kind of unnecessary and not my thing.

“So I guess that’s kind of where that came from.”

You can catch Tucker opening for Dierks Bentley at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 10th.
