Brian O’Connell is giving us some insight about Irvine Meadows’ last concert season. Check out what he has to say about Florida Georgia Line being the last country group to perform there and where we might be seeing more concerts.

Brian O’Connell is the President of Live Nation Country Music and in charge of concert venues like Irvine Meadows and the San Manuel Amphitheater. This year will be the last concert season at Irvine Meadows. The last country band to grace the stage will be Florida Georgia Line. Brian said that was “strategic”. They timed it with the release of Florida Georgia Line’s “Dig Your Roots” album. Brian also revealed that we may be getting some more concerts at San Manuel Amphitheater next year to make up for the loss of Irvine Meadows.

In addition to concert venues, Brian also runs multiple country music festivals like Route 91 Harvest Festival. It’s almost time for Route 91 again (September 30-October 2nd). Brian revealed some new things this year like “new bleacher seating”. This year the festival will bring together names like Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, and Brad Paisley.

Even though he’s used to bringing together powerful country artists if he had to pick the acts for Super 51’s halftime show he’d go another genre. He would go way back for the headliner and even bring in some holograms.
