A multitude of structures burned during the devastating Blue Cut Fire including the Summit Inn Restaurant that used to sit at the top of the Cajon Summit.

Some of the regulars and dedicated customers of the old Summit Inn suggested to the owners that they should have a memorial service for the historical Route 66 diner that served thousands over the years.

So the owners listened and a memorial service for the Summit Inn Restaurant is now scheduled for this Saturday, September 10th. From 11am to 3pm you can join in with folks from all across the High Desert and share your memories of the historic restaurant and celebrate the birth of the new Summit Inn to come.

This event is free and is open to the public. Gather up the family and enjoy a day of memories and food from 3rd Generation Taco; they will have food and drinks for sale.

As a side note, please remember that if you’re going to be staying for a long period of time at the memorial that are no bathrooms, water or electricity on site. Take your own lawn chairs and shade.
