Dierks Bentley wasn’t the only one who wanted to have fun Saturday night.

In what was his first, and final, performance at the historic Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, Bentley was front and center in front of a sold out crowd and what better place to bring the “Somewhere on a Beach” tour than Orange County.

After Tucker Beathard, Cam and Randy Houser got the night started, Bentley opened up with his classic hits like “Up On the Ridge,” “Free and Easy” and “Tip it on Back.”

He had some fun with one fan during “Am I the Only One,” as Bentley brought the fan on stage and raced him to see who could shotgun their beer the fastest. Bentley came out victorious.

More of a singer than a conversationalist, Bentley cranked out more fan favorites with, “5-1-5-0,” Say You Do,” “Different For Girls” and a brand new song called, “What the Hell Did I Say.”

There was also a very touching video tribute at the end of “Every Mile A Memory” for Bentley’s dog Jake, who passed away back in July.

During “Feel That Fire,” the Arizona native made his way through the crowd and found a mini stage in the upper level of the amphitheater, where Bentley gave a very heartfelt speech on the eve of 9/11.

He spoke about the brave police officers and firefighters who ran into those buildings 14 years ago with the thought that they might not come out. He touched on our military and the sacrifices they make for this country day in and day out. He reiterated that we live in a great country and followed up by singing “Riser” and one of his newest songs, “Freedom.”

Bentley brought a steady dose of country, rock ‘n roll and bluegrass, while concert goers responded with a whole lot of dancing, especially when he belted out “Sideways” towards the end of the night.

The party came to a close after Bentley brought the nose of an airplane on stage to help get the full flight experience for “Drunk On A Plane.” This was one show that Bentley and his fans won’t soon forget.
