A series of key activities are happening the week of October 16th as part of the Riverside County Transportation Commission’s (RCTC) 91 Project. As of now the project is about 85 percent complete.

In order to get the new lanes open in the first half of 2017, crews are continuing to work around the clock six to seven days a week. As crew complete work on ramps, bridges, connectors and local street improvements, they will continue to be opened for use.

Here’s a list of work scheduled for this week. (FYI – Information provided below is subject to change based on field conditions, weather or other operational factors.)

  • Sunday, October 16:
    At 10pm – The New westbound 91 Maple Street flyover on-ramp opens
    Also at 10pm – The Maple Street Bridge with two southbound only lanes opens.
    Be advised motorists that are north of the 91 can travel south to enter the westbound 91.
    To access Maple Street north of the 91 you can use Serfas Club Drive or Smith Street. Motorists south the 91 can enter westbound 91 from Sixth Street.
  • Monday, October 17:
    At 12:01 am – Opening of the Main Street undercrossing with three lanes in both directions.
  • Tuesday, October 18:
    At 8pm – Closure of the westbound Lincoln Avenue on-ramp for two months. You can use Maple Street or Main Street westbound 91 on-ramps.
    At 8pm – Closure of the westbound Maple Street off-ramp for two months. Use the new Serfas Club Drive/Auto Center Drive off-ramp.
  • Wednesday, October 19:
    At 4am – Opening of the new westbound Serfas Club Drive/Auto Center Drive off-ramp. Make a note that immediately past the Maple Street bridge is the new exit point for this ramp, on the far right side of westbound 91.You’re asked to please follow posted detour signs. Also you may want to allow yourself some extra travel time, and you can also check real-time traffic information using Also as a side note you’re asked to please continue to support local businesses in this area.
