(RIVERSIDE) РSome folks in Riverside are a bit uneasy after a man force-ably entered a home and attacked two women Sunday morning.

CBS Los Angeles reports neighbors of the victims were startled awake Sunday morning as the sounds of police and bloodhounds were making their way through the neighborhood trying to hunt down the suspect, who is now on the run.

According to Riverside police detectives, the man reportedly broke in and attacked two women inside a home located in the 3500 block of Audubon Place. The elderly woman who was attacked suffered injuries including a gash around her neck also a black and blue left eye. A younger woman who was also at the residence tried to help and in turn was assaulted by the assailant too.

According to witnesses, the two victims are mother and daughter. Police say at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning the masked man gained entry into the bedroom though a window that was unlocked.

Authorities say the only description they really have is that the man is about 6-feet tall.
