Ice skating generally isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Southern California. Sure the rest of the country gets more of a frigid winter and probably many more outdoor rinks, but we have a few hidden gems of our own. If you’re thinking about a fun date night or just want to get in the holiday spirit, Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire have what you’re looking for.

If you’re looking for a open-air ice rink in the San Fernando Valley, you’re in luck. Woodland Hills Ice, located in the Westfield Promenade Mall on Topanga Canyon Blvd., is one of the largest outdoor rinks that Souther California has to offer. The 7,000 square foot rink is open through mid January and costs just $15 for skate rental and all-day skating.

Shopping and ice skating? It’s like a dream come true! Located at the Irvine Spectrum, this outdoor ice skating rink is one of a kind in Orange County. Guests can skate during the venue’s 75 minute open skate sessions and even offer a season pass for frequent visitors, which also includes skate rental. The rink is located in Giant Wheel Court, adjacent to Nordstrom and Macy’s and is open until January 16th.

Only minutes away from Santa Monica Beach, this ice skating rink features some of the most beautiful sights as you circle around the 8,000 square foot rink. There’s also an array of Winterlit Holiday Events including ICE-specific events including Rock ‘N’ Skate on Friday nights, Sunday Costume Skate, Lil’ Tot Time. This rink stays open until mid-January.

Is there anything more breathtaking than ice skating in downtown LA? This is known as LA’s original outdoor ice skating rink and will mark it’s 15th year hosting skaters for tons of winter fun! The rink will be up until mid-January and features plenty of free attractions in Pershing Square a winter concert series and special events.
