Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that’s 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her three favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.
Brantley Gilbert has made no secret of the fact that he’s a recovering addict, something he’s constantly mindful of, even though he’s at one of the happiest points of his life.
“The Devil Don’t Sleep, contrary to the title -this is actually the most positive record as a whole that I’ve ever released,” Brantley confessed in a statement from his label. “And you know the title track – it’s all about being conscious that even though it has been an awesome chapter, you know, I got married and my wife’s my favorite part of me.
“I love my wife with everything I am,” he continues. “And you know, there’s been a lot of positive in this chapter. It’s all about knowing that the devil don’t sleep. Temptation is always around the corner and it’s all about just staying on your toes and being ready.”
Here are the three songs from The Devil Don’t Sleep that I played for New at Nine tonight:
- It’s About to Get Dirty
- The Weekend
- Outlaw in Me
