Here’s the top stories in Country Music for Tuesday, February 7th, 2017:


Congratulations are in order for Brantley Gilbert, as his new album “The Devil Don’t Sleep” sold more than 66,000 copies in its first week.  It debuted #1 on the Country charts and all-genre charts.


Willie Nelson has had to cancel another run of shows due to an undisclosed illness.  This time, the cancelled shows are in Bakersfield at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace tonight and tomorrow (Feb. 8th).  Just last month, Nelson had to cancel 3 dates of a five-show run at the Venetian in Las Vegas.  No official comment has been made about the status of his health.  Wishing Willie a speedy recovery.


Just confirmed:  Kelsea Ballerini, a first-time GRAMMY nominee, will perform during Sunday nights’ awards show on CBS!  Kelsea is nominated for Best New Artist.


Speaking of the GRAMMYs, Keith Urban announced that the next single of his amazing album RipCORD, will be his duet with Carrie Underwood, “The Fighter”!  Even better, they will perform it live on the GRAMMYs this Sunday night!


And finally, Happy 55th Birthday to the man, Garth Brooks today!
