On Sunday, March 5th, Deputy Jared Rodgers responded to the call of a report of someone parked in a vehicle at the Chevron Station at Escondido Avenue and Ranchero Road in Hesperia.

The driver, identified as 21 year-old Tristan Wyatt Thorwaldson, reportedly dragged Deputy Rodgers approximately 230 feet after driving away at a high rate of speed.

As the suspect slowed to turn a corner, the deputy was able to let go of the vehicle. Deputy Rodgers was treated at a local hospital with minor injuries. Other deputies from various agencies also responded to help apprehend Thorwaldson, and pursued the suspect for about 6 and a half miles through Hesperia and Victorville.

finally in the 12800 block of Sixth Avenue, Victorville, Thorwaldson was stopped and taken into custody, without further incident. He is being held, in lieu of $1,000,000 bail at the High Desert Detention Center.
