A Thousand Horses’ “Preachin’ to the Choir”: Musical Insights

In the “Musical Insights” series, country artists share their thoughts on some of their most popular tunes.

A Thousand Horses‘ new single “Preachin’ to the Choir” is a significant release for the band, as it’s the first one they haven’t written.

“Yeah, it is the first outside song that we recorded, but it was written by some really good friends of ours, The Warren Brothers and Morgan Wallen and Heather Morgan,” lead singer Michael Hobby reveals in a statement from their label.

“And we’ve been writing with those guys for years, and Brett Warren sent it to us one night and said, ‘Man, I really feel like this song is you guys. Check it out; let me know.’ And as soon as we listened to it, the first word, you know, ‘I’m either all in or all out,’ we’re like, ‘Man, this is totally A Thousand Horses and what we’re about.’

And it just kept getting better and better, and we all loved it so we called him up and said, ‘Hey, would you guys mind if we record this?’ And they were like, ‘Absolutely!’ And, it’s just a song that speaks to us, you know, and it sounds like us, and it speaks to our fans. We are those ‘all in, all out’ kind of people. You know, you work hard, you play hard, and you love hard, and you kind of do your own thing. So we couldn’t be more excited about it and grateful that they sent it to us.”
