Despite recent reports on a tabloid website, Willie Nelson is not deathly ill, according to his publicist.
In a March 13th article on RadarOnline, the report said an anonymous source claimed Willie was “deathly ill”, weak as a baby and unable to muster the breath to sing. This report caused other sites to pick up the story and report the same.
Elaine Shock, Nelson’s publicist, was quick to dismiss the claims telling The Associated Press this week, that Willie is “perfectly fine”.
Willie, who is 83 years old, performed in front of over 70,000 people just last week at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. There were no reports from audience members at that show that Willie was less-than-stellar in his performance.
In January, Willie DID have to cancel some shows and again in early February, including a run in Vegas, however, it was due to a bad cold.
Willie Nelson is not a stranger to internet death hoaxes, which makes it even funnier because he’s got a new single coming out called, “Still Not Dead”. The song is a tongue-in-cheek look at the crazy stories that circulate on the internet.
We are happy to say Willie Nelson is alive and kickin’ and still putting on amazing concerts around the world.
