Florida Georgia Line is up for five Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday, including Album of the Year for Dig Your Roots, which the duo finds very gratifying.

“Our albums are like our babies, you know, they’re our lives, they’re our projects,” says Brian Kelley in a statement from their label. “It’s a work of art for us. It takes a lot to get those done. We’ve put everything that we have into those.

“So, I think for this year, Dig Your Roots, you know, it took us a while to make our third record, and we really, really just took our time and just pushed and wrote and had some really good songs come in, some really cool collaborations, and at the same time, just continued to stay ourselves, but push the boundaries,” he continues. “And I think it’s cool to be recognized for that.

“And you know, there’s a lot of inspiration on that album from our grandparents, our parents, real life situations, marriage struggles and love and spirituality. So I think we covered a lot in this album. So, it’s our lives and we’re happy to share that, and it’s cool to get just a little nod from the ACMs on album, because they are our babies.”
