Authorities are looking for someone who they believe may be a female driver, who hit and critically injured a woman with her car last Friday afternoon in Corona.

CBS Los Angeles reports that according to Corona police, at about 4:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, 44-year-old Dora Bran of Riverside was in the crosswalk at Vicentia Avenue when she was struck by a black Mercedes Benz SUV that was turning from West 6th Street onto Vicentia Avenue. The driver fled the scene.

Police confirmed that the Riverside woman was transported to a local hospital, and as of Monday was still listed as being in critical condition.

The sister of Dora Bran, the victim, said her sister was on her way to a church where she volunteers her time every week.

Bran’s sister told CBS Los Angeles on Monday, “I am feeling very, very sad and very, very heartbroken because it’s just not fair the way things happened.”

There are surveillance video images of the suspect vehicle released by Corona police, you can watch the video below for more. They believe the SUV may have been driven by a woman and the vehicle possibly might have front-end damage. Police said the driver’s side curtain airbags may also have deployed during the impact.
