The artist formerly known as Billy Ray Cyrus is announcing he is legally changing his name in August.

The actor and singer of the extremely popular 1992 song “Achy Breaky Heart”, is also re-releasing 3 new versions of the song, TODAY.

Billy Ray will now be referred to as just “Cyrus”.  In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Country, he said back in the day he used to go by “Cyrus”, so he’s making the change officially on August 25th.

“Achy Breaky Heart” will now have 3 new versions:  an updated version of the original song, a Spanglish version and… wait for it… an EDM version.

Billy Ray er, I mean”Cyrus”, had a HUGE hit with the song in 1992, and single-handedly launched the line-dance era of country music because of the tune.
