LoCash‘s rocked the houseĀ at the San Bernardino County Fair Saturday night (May 27th) with a performance that had the crowd on its feet for the entire show.

With the ferris wheel and crescent moon in the skyline behind the bleachers, and the word “Cash” flashing on stage in between bursts of strobe lights, Preston Brust and Chris Lucas paid homage to several of their influences, Bon Jovi, the Beastie Boys, and their cover of ZZ Top’s “Tush” was made even better by the guitar solo performed by Andy Wood.

But their medley of hits of ’90s country was equally well-received, particularly their version of Garth Brooks‘ “Friends In Low Places,” complete with third verse.

The crowd was also treated to “super-new” music from the duo, the sexy “For My Eyes Only,” only the fourth time LoCash had performed it. Preston joked that it was also the first time they’d performed it without messing up.

Other highlights included the songwriter’s versions of Tim McGraw‘s “Truck Yeah” and Keith Urban‘s “You Gonna Fly,” their current single “Ring on Every Finger,” and the beachy “Drunk Drunk.”

They shared their appreciation for Southern California radio helping to turn “I Know Somebody” into a #1 hit, after their label thought it had stalled at #6 on the charts, and described thinking about their appreciation for the U.S. military, how negative the news has become, and how thinking about those things led them to write “I Love This Life,” which they performed after thanking police, sheriff’s departments, firefighters, and EMTs.

In an adorable moment, Preston also brought his young son out on stage, his delicate ears protected by headphones, to help out on the drums and guitar for the closing numbers.

What’s more rock ‘n’ roll than that?!
