A Chino man was hit and killed by another vehicle after he got out of his car in Devore at the at 15-215 Freeway split.

The Press Enterprise reports that according to California Highway patrol officials, Thursday morning, June 8, the man was fatally struck after when he stopped his car and got out of it at the split-off point between the 15 and 215 freeways in Devore.

A CHP news release stated that a little after 1 a.m. the 26-year-old man, who was driving a silver 2010 BMW, for some reason stopped his vehicle in the No. 3 lane of the northbound 15 Freeway.

The release says a 59-year-old Oak Hills man, who was driving a 2016 Hyundai, wound up hitting the other man after he “exposed himself to traffic.”

The 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity has not yet been released.
