Sam Hunt is close to rewriting the record books after “Body Like A Back Road” has spent a record-tying 24 weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

That ties the record that was originally set by Florida Georgia Line‘s “Cruise” back in 2012-13.

“Making history is fun, and this summertime smash keeps going and going,” Mike Dungan, Universal Music Group Nashville chairman/CEO told Billboard. “The audience response has been Beatle-esque at his sold-out live shows.”

“Body Like A Back Road” is currently the only single that Hunt has released off of his sophomore album and there has been no word yet on when that next album will be released.

Hunt’s debut album, Montevallo, produced four #1 singles and has sold 1.3 million copies to date, according to Nielsen Music.

Next week, we’ll find out if Hunt can take the chart crown and have the top spot all to himself.
