Carrie Underwood’s Husband Retires From NHL

It was a whirlwind year for Carrie Underwood and her hockey hubby, Mike Fisher. The end of hockey season will also mark the end of Mike’s hockey career.

Yesterday, Mike Fisher, announced that he’ll be retiring from the National Hockey League. He wrote a piece in the Tennessean announcing his retirement and thanking fans for their support.

“This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but I know I’ve made the right one. I’ve decided to retire from the NHL.”

He ended his announcement saying, “A thank you here isn’t enough to say goodbye with, but all those memories, like the moments in the locker room before Game 6, cherishing those is what I hope will keep me, this team and the city intertwined forever.”

Mike and Carrie got married in 2010. The following year he was traded to the Nashville Predators.

The 2016/2017 season for Fisher was definitely a stand out. He was named the 6th captain and along with his teammates, they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Although the Preds were beat by the Penguins in Game 6 of the Finals, the excitement was celebrated by the city of Nashville and all of its celebrity residents.
