HEMET (CBSRiverside) – Health officials said Tuesday that a high school student in Hemet is receiving treatment for active tuberculosis.

CBS Los Angeles reports that according to the Riverside County Department of Public Health, the teenager, who remains unidentified, is a student at Tahquitz High School. Reportedly, the families of 300 students were sent letters informing them of the tuberculosis diagnosis.

Any students and staff who may have come into contact with the student are being recommended to go for TB screenings by officials.
