Brantley Gilbert is enjoying a successful career in country music, but what would he be doing if that hadn’t worked out?

“I was one of those kids who had a bunch of different majors,” he admits in a statement from his label. “I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do.

At first, I thought about criminal justice. Then, I looked at my friends and myself and our records, and I knew that wasn’t going to be a good call,” he shares. “At one point, I looked into doing some counseling or therapy, like a relationship counselor, and thank God that didn’t work out. I’d be responsible for more divorces than social media!

“I coached football at the high school I went to for a little while, he recalls. “I had a blast. That was probably what I enjoyed more than anything. I really enjoyed being around the kids. That would probably be a safe bet, I guess.”

There’s no doubt that Brantley’s looking forward to tossing around a few footballs with his soon-to-be-born son, who’s due in November.
