Montgomery Gentry‘s Troy Gentry has been killed in a helicopter crash, according to the duo’s social media posts.

The crash occurred near the Flying W Airport in Medford, New Jersey, the afternoon of Friday, September 8th. The duo was scheduled to play a concert, which has since been cancelled, at the airport that evening.

WCAU-TV in Philadelphia reports two people passed away as a result of the accident.

Montgomery Gentry’s hits include “My Town,” “Hell Yeah,” and “Gone.” In 2000, they were named the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Duo or Group, and won the American Music Award for Favorite New Artist, Country.
