Kenny Chesney revealed this his home on St. John was destroyed by Hurricane Irma, but that’s the least of his concerns.

Kenny’s vacation home was one of the many buildings destroyed on the island of St. John.

Kenny was not on the island during the hurricane, but opened his home to friends as a shelter.

He told HLN’s Robin Meade, “My house was, we thought, a very safe place for everyone because it was built with stone, concrete [and] bricks in an area of the island where we didn’t feel like we were going to get a direct wind.”

He went on to say, “I had 200 MPH wind-tested windows throughout my house, and every window in the house just blew out.”

Luckily, Kenny’s friends were okay. “That place and the people mean so much more to me than my house”.

Kenny put together a foundation to help rebuild the city. Love for Love City Foundation is taking donations on Kenny’s website.
