The evacuation orders for all roads south of Green River Road and Foothill Parkway remain in effect overnight.

The fire continues to burn with 15% containment and has reached 2,000 acres. 600 Homes have been evacuated.

The fire is still actively burning with more than 900 firefighters battling the flames. 9 helicopters and 9 fixed-wing aircrafts are assisting.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation.

Evacuations are still in place south of Green River Road with no time as to when they may be lifted. Vehicles are not allowed in the area.

The fire remains at 5% containment with winds from the northeast.

The OCFA reports that more than 520 firefighters are now working the Canyon Fire. There are two injuries reported.

The blaze has burned more than 2,000 acres with flare ups being reported. The fire remains at 5% containment.

The Canyon Fire has consumed 2,500 acres and remains at 5% contained. More than 350 firefighters are working the blaze.

The Orange County Fire Authority indicates that several structures have been damaged or destroyed.

The fire remains at 5% contained and has burned 2,000 acres.

Road Closure Update: Green River Rd. and Foothill will be closed from the 91 freeway to Lincoln Avenue.

The Corona-Norco Unified School District has closed the following schools:

Adams Elementary School
Cesar Chavez Academy
Coronita Elementary School
Prado View Elementary School
Franklin Elementary School
Citrus Hills Intermediate School
Eisenhower Elementary School

The Canyon fire is up to 2,000 acres and 5% contained, Corona Fire reports.

Additionally, Orange County Fire Authority reports that one structure has been burned and multiple others are threatened.

Road Closure Update: Green River Road is closed at Palisades, Serfas Club, and Paseo Grande. Residents not affected by evacuations will be allowed to enter with identification.

The following schools will be closed on Tuesday, September 26:

Adams Elementary School
Cesar Chavez Academy
Coronita Elementary School
Prado View Elementary School

A vegetation fire, dubbed the Canyon Fire, is burning off the 91 freeway at Green River. The fire started just after 1:00 PM local time.

Over 300 firefighters are working this blaze and the cause is still under investigation.

Evacuations have been ordered for homes south of Green River Road from the 91 Freeway to Trudy Lane, including Orchard Glen Tract.

Fire size: 1,700 Acres

Containment: Unknown

Road Closures:

Dominguez Ranch Road is closed to incoming traffic
Green River Road is closed at the entrance to the mobile home park, 4901 Green River Road

Evacuations:

All homes south of Green River Road from the 91 freeway to Trudy Lane including the Orchard Glen Tract are being evacuated.

Shelters for Evacuees:

Corona High School Gymnasium 1150 W. 10th Street
Animal Control will be at the Evacuation Shelter site for assistance
