Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that’s 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her two favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.
To say that Carly Pearce is excited about the release of her debut album, Every Little Thing, would be an understatement. “I truly have waited and waited and worked so hard my entire life to have this moment,” she gushes in a statement from her label. “All I’ve ever wanted to do is make country music and finally I’m going to have an album. Oh! It just freaks me out to even think about it.”
Most artists self-title their debut album, but not Carly, who instead, named it after the lead single. “I named the album Every Little Thing for two reasons,” she explains. “Obviously, because of the song and how it just got everything started for me, but also I named it this because I feel like you’re going to get to hear every little thing about me as far as where my influences are, where I come from.
“I’m a songwriter and I love writing songs. I’ve been writing songs in Nashville for eight years, and I feel like I’m telling you my stories and telling you every little bit about my personality and the kind of woman that I am and all of those things, so I think you’re going to get a very good idea of who I am and just what I grew up loving and the music that I loved in this album.”
