The date immortalized in Thomas Rhett‘s current single is October 14th, so in honor of this “Unforgettable Day,” we’re sharing some of our favorite recipes for “Mango-ritas,”so you can properly celebrate.
From the Food Network:
Combine the finely grated zest from one lime with 1 tablespoon salt on a small plate. Moisten the rim of 4 glasses with lime wedges; dip in the salt mixture.
Puree 6 ounces of tequila, 8 ounces of orange liqueur, 3/4 of a cup of lime juice, 4 cups of frozen mango and 2 cups ice in a blender until smooth. Pour into the prepared glasses and garnish with lime wedges.
From Martha Stewart:
In an 8-ounce glass, stir together 3/4 of a cup of mango juice, 2 tablespoons of orange juice, 1 ounce of tequila (preferably white), and 1/2 ounce of Grand Marnier. Add ice. Garnish with orange zest and a skewer threaded with mango balls; serve.
Combine 1 cup of crushed ice, one large ripe mango (peeled, pitted and diced), 1/2 cup of tequila and 2 tablespoons of lime juice in a blender and puree until smooth. Moisten rims of 2 margarita glasses with reserved lime half and dip each glass rim in coarse salt. Pour Mango-rita into glasses.
From Dirty Drinks:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add in 2 ounces of silver tequila, 2 ounces of mango liquer, 1 ounce Triple Sec, and 2 ounces of sour mix. Shake. Strain into a margarita glass.
We’ve also got a non-alcoholic recipe! Bonus: It also works as a hangover cure.
From Cookie & Kate:
Blend 2 cups of fresh spinach, 1 cup unsweetened coconut water, and one orange until smooth. Add 2 cups chopped mango, 1 cup chopped pineapple, juice of 1/2 a lime (more if you want!), a tiny pinch of salt, and blend again. Taste, and add more lime juice if desired.
