Luke Bryan has undergone his first round of auditions for American Idol and there’s one song he admits gets overused and typically isn’t the best pick.
Through the years of American Idol, we’ve seen plenty of horrible auditions of hopefuls singing “Broken Wing” or “My Heart Will Go On;” but 2018 will see a huge number of Idol auditions with Maren Morris’ “My Church”.
Although Luke says he isn’t sick of hearing it, he does admit that a song like that is hard to pull off unless you can sing like Maren Morris. “There are songs that people pick that they don’t realize they’re doing themselves in.”
Luke will make his debut on American Idol March 11, 2018.
Before his big TV judge debut, he’s sneaking in one more album. What Makes You Country is available everywhere today. Luke said if there’s one song you have to listen to on the album it’s “Most People Are Good”. He said that song is a good reminder that “there’s more good than bad happening” even if we don’t see it or hear about it.
Luke’s career has definitely taken off in the last decade. He released his first song back in 2007 and now he’s releasing his 8th album and has a new TV gig. When he reflected on 2017 he said being a part of the Super Bowl was a highlight although the game result was not ideal. If the Falcon would have won he joked, “I may have moved to an island” and you never would have heard from me again.
