The individual members of Lady Antebellum all have families of their own, and while they are looking forward to starting up their own Christmas traditions, one thing they all seem to be in agreement about is that they don’t want to deal with a live Christmas tree.
“I would love to have a real tree, and we used to have it and I always wondered why I couldn’t breathe,” Charles Kelley laughs before explaining in a statement from the trio’s label, “Dave and I – we’re allergic to everything in this world, so we have to have fake trees.”
Hillary Scott is okay with that, but for a practical reason. “They’re not as messy. They still kinda shed anyway like a real tree, but I don’t know, I just feel like the sap and everything, it gets on my floor.”
“Which some people love!,” interjects Dave Haywood. “Most people … the cleanup and the smell, but for me it’s just a little too much maintenance at Christmas time. I’d rather focus on presents, family, food.”
“And drinking,” adds Charles.
