Thomas Rhett‘s latest album Life Changes has earned a nod from the Recording Academy by nominated for Album of the Year in the Country category at this year’s Grammy Awards.
“I’m blown away to be nominated for a Grammy,” says the “Marry Me” singer in a statement from his label. “Especially [to] be nominated for Country Album of the Year, because there’s a lot of really great albums that come out every year, and we put so much hard work and time in the studio to this record, that to be nominated for a Grammy is definitely a massive cherry on top to a already incredible year.
“You know, this record has a lot of personal stuff on it and I think that’s why I’m so proud of it. And went in a couple different directions that I think we never in a million years thought we’d go, and it’s just been amazing to see how awesome it’s been accepted by country radio, and our fans and can’t wait to see how it shakes out at the Grammys.”
The Grammys air this Sunday night at 8pm/7pm CT on CBS.
