Sad news as a 38 year-old Apple Valley man was arrested on the suspicion of killing his 8 year-old son.
Friday morning detectives determined Shakir Nunn, of Apple Valley, was responsible for the death of his 8-year-old son, Dominic, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
CBS Los Angeles reports that the man was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for murder.
Authorities responded to an Apple Valley home in the 13000 block of Navajo Road, Thursday after receiving a 911 call about a child not breathing.
When authorities arrived on the scene they found the child, Dominic, unresponsive inside of the residence and paramedics immediately performed CPR on the 8 year-old.
He passed away later after being transported to Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville.
There were other children in the home and the San Bernardino County Children and Family Services, who had responded to assist, wound up taking custody of the other juveniles.
Reportedly the 8 year-old’s mother wasn’t at home at the time the incident occurred. According to detectives they believe there isn’t any evidence that suggests she was involved in the crime.
