With the grand opening set for Monday, February 5th, the first Cracker Barrel in Victorville hosted its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and First Breakfast today (February 2nd), in an event the Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce called "historic," as it's also the first Cracker Barrel in California.

Victorville Mayor Pro Tem Jim Cox was on hand to present Cracker Barrel with a Certificate of Congratulations, and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store District Manager Andy Chopra presented Victor Valley College with $13,000 in a scholarship endowment for students studying the restaurant business.

Also in attendance were Ray and Wilma Yoder, superfans who have eaten at all 649 Cracker Barrels in the United States, now including the Victorville location.

Gabriel Melendez, an Associate Manager at Victorville's Cracker Barrel, expressed his excitement about the new location, which is expected to hire nearly 300 full and part-time employees.

Thomas Pate, Officer and Vice President, Operations Business Model and New Unit Openings, said plans for the Victorville location have been in the works for many years, with plans to expand its reach into other parts of California, starting with Sacramento next. Victorville was strategically chosen for its first California location.

"What we try to do is look for growing communities, a thriving community, plus Victorville has got great family values in the community, which matches our brand so well."
