While resolutions usually begin at the New Year and are made to get healthier or more organized, why not make similar resolutions beginning this Earth Day that are geared to making a healthier world?

The Green Living Guy provides four easy green resolutions that we all can start to do this April 22ndto make a better Earth and they are all easy things to incorporate into our lives!

1.) Use less water

We are fortunate that clean water is available to us wherever we go, that we can take advantage of that. According to Green Living Guy, one person can use 80 to 100 gallons of water in one day.

And while it may seem like we have endless water, only 3% of that water is freshwater.

This Earth Day, try to take shorter showers, turn the water off while brushing your teeth, and only run the dishwasher and washing machine when the devices are full. These little adjustments can make a big impact!

2.) Take up thrifting

Did you know that one of the largest contributors to Earth’s pollution is the fashion industry? That is because textiles are not 100% disposable and can take up to 200 years to decompose. Thrift stores are a great place to shop for clothes—for both new clothes and vintage—and will help to keep Earth clean and more money in your bank account!

And while you are doing your own Spring Cleaning, instead of throwing out your clothes, consider donating them.

3.) Keep your neighborhood clean

Instead of ignoring a plastic bottle on the side of the road in your neighborhood, try to pick up the trash that is lying around your neighborhood.

4.) Choose reusable over disposable

Plastic bags and plastic bottles are awful for the environment and often end up in the ocean.

This Earth Day, start bringing reusable bags to the grocery store and buy a water bottle to bring along with you instead of plastic water bottles.

If you buy coffee often, some places allow you to bring your own cup instead of constantly buying a disposable mug.

These are a few ideas for you to start incorporating into your daily life to make the Earth a healthier place. Check out the rest of the Green Living Guy's website for more green living-tips
