Brush Fire in Nuevo in Riverside Leads To Evacuations

Early Wednesday morning, a brush fire broke out in Nuevo that led to mandatory evacuations.

According to NBC 4, the fire broke out at 7:19 a.m. in the 26000 block of Water Avenue, where it had burned at least five acres.

Evacuations were ordered on Water Avenue east of El Nido, Emerett Lane east of El Nido, and Orange Avenue east of El Nido.

Multiple structures were involved, but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to be from the high winds, but it is under further investigation.
