Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that's 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her two favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.

While some artists like to put out one album immediately after another, Carrie Underwood says that wasn't an approach that was going to work for her as she prepared her sixth album Cry Pretty.

“There was definitely a lot of growth for me as a person – emotional growth and spiritual growth and my family," she says about the creation of the project in a statement from her label. "And I feel like just kind of taking more ownership in my thoughts and my feelings and my wants and my creative abilities and just taking more ownership over all of those things and wanting that to translate into this album.

“I like to take time between projects," she continues. "It’s like when do you have time to live the life you’re writing about? It’s so important to me…Whatever I’m doing, I want to completely immerse myself in and that includes living a life, and I just feel like that’s so important. And for me as a mom and as a wife and as a friend and daughter and all of those things, it’s just important to take a minute to live a life worth writing about.”

Carrie now begins a whirlwind of appearances, including a performance on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight (September 13th), followed by the Today Show Summer Concert Series tomorrow (September 14th), CBS Sunday morning (September 15th), and the Ellen Show on Wednesday (September 19th). Then on Thursday (September 20th), she'll receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Here are the songs I played from Cry Pretty for New at Nine tonight:
