"Slow Dance In a Parking Lot" is the follow-up to Jordan Davis's previous hits, "Take It from Me" and "Singles You Up," and he says it's based on a real life experience.

“‘It’s a true story," the Louisiana native shares in a statement from his label. "That was written with Lonnie Fowler. We didn’t have an idea of what we were going to write that day, and we started talking about first dates.

"He asked me about my first date, which was not eventful at all, and then I asked him about his first date, and it was him and his wife on their way home, a Garth Brooks song comes on the radio, they pull in a parking lot and he asks her to slow dance.

"I was like, ‘Dude, if there’s ever a country song, that’s it right there.’”
